## Overview

The Atlas Copco UD+ two-in-one oil coalescing filter (8102372406) is an inline compressed air filter that removes oil aerosols, the fine oil mist that a compressor carries over into its air, together with wet dust and water droplets, protecting the equipment and processes downstream. Coalescing simply means the filter merges those tiny oil droplets into larger drops that collect and drain away instead of passing on into your air. As the name suggests, it does the work of two conventional filtration stages (the DD+ and PD+ grades) in a single housing, giving the same air purity as a two-filter train with a lower pressure drop and in up to half the installation space.
At its heart is our patented Nautilus glass fiber technology, which achieves high filtration efficiency while keeping resistance to airflow low. Its fractional filtration efficiency reaches 99.999% at both 1 µm and 0.01 µm particle sizes, and 99.94% at the most penetrating particle size (MPPS). Rated performance is a maximum oil carry-over of 0.001 mg/m³, meeting ISO 8573-1 air quality class [1:-:2] and tested to ISO 8573-2:2018 and ISO 12500-1:2007. A coarse, three-dimensional drainage layer separates the collected oil and stops it from being drawn back into the air stream.
The size 25+ unit has NPT 1/2 inch ports and is rated for a nominal flow of 53 cfm (25 l/s) at the reference working pressure of 102 psi (7 bar). It operates from 15 psi up to 232 psi (1 to 16 bar), with an ambient temperature range of 34 °F to 122 °F (1 °C to 50 °C). To size it correctly, match your system's flow and working pressure to these ratings and check that the port thread suits your pipework.
Fit a water separator, a device that drops out bulk liquid water, ahead of the UD+ so free water is removed before the air reaches the coalescing element, since this filter is built for oil mist and fine droplets rather than slugs of liquid water. For the cleanest and most reliable result, pair it with the appropriate upstream and downstream stages from the Atlas Copco air treatment range.
Servicing is straightforward. The push-in element and drain connection are designed for quick replacement, the ribbed housing releases the filter bowl easily, and a built-in service indicator flags when attention is due. Replace the element after 8,000 running hours or 12 months, whichever comes first, or sooner if the pressure drop reaches 5 psi (0.35 bar).
